Clamps are designed to capture various types of cargo in order to reliably and safely carry out loading and unloading and construction work (lifting, holding, moving and lowering cargo). The design of the gripper is determined by the parameters of the cargo and the conditions of its operation.

The Smalya lock is a plate frame with collapsible fingers and a movable spring-loaded pin (pin). Clamps of this type are used for lifting and moving loads with subsequent remote slinging in confined spaces or hard-to-reach places for the slinger, as well as at heights. For these purposes, a cable guy is fixed on the pin, with the help of which the pin is retracted into the side gripper cylinder, releasing the latter from engagement with the load.

Smal locks, unlike many other grips that can be hung on the hook of a lifting mechanism, are used exclusively with slings. Slinging of the load is carried out by tying the load using the "noose" method, or using special eyes or technological holes provided on the load itself.
