It is an all-rounder that is compatible with a variety of work equipment and is therefore suitable for a wide range of tasks. Like all Liebherr rope shovels, the HS 8070.1 is easily customizable to individual customer requirements.
Munich, Germany, October 24, 2022 – Liebherr's next-generation rope excavator lineup has been expanded with the HS 8070.1 with a lifting capacity of 70 tons. This machine is designed for a wide range of tasks. For example, for transshipment of materials, lifting operations and construction of foundations.
The undercarriage of the HS 8070.1 is equipped with a support system, thanks to which the machine can “push out” from the ground for quick and easy (de)installation of the roller frames. As a result, the basic transport weight of the HS 8070.1 is only 35 t, making it easy to transport between job sites. Walkways and handrails do not require dismantling and remain on the turntable during transport.
Versatile design
The HS 8070.1 is equipped with a modular counterweight, the weight of which can be adjusted as required. At the same time, the HS 8070.1 is compatible with the boom system and working equipment of the 100 ton Liebherr HS 8100.1 rope excavator: the same working tool can be used on both machines – for example, the HSG 5-18 grapple for excavating trenches of the “soil wall” type. As a result, the compact 70 tonne HS 8070.1 can create earth walls with the same thickness as a 100 tonne rope shovel.
The HS 8070.1 has a new floating A-pillar. Unlike the fixed A-pillar, it increases the productivity of the machine in dynamic operations. When designing the HS 8070.1, great attention was paid to fast (dismantling) assembly, easy transport and daily maintenance comfort. For example, filling ports and service points are now conveniently located on the turntable.
